Join the EAEA campaign “The Year of Adult Education 2017”!

In 2017 EAEA is celebrating the impact and benefits of adult education with the theme “The Power and Joy of Learning”. We bring together European adult education organisations to demonstrate how adult learning can improve citizens’ lives and prospects in Europe. We are collecting events organised by adult education organisations across Europe and want to invite you to join the campaign! Read more on how to join!

Save the dates: EAEA Ýounger Staff Training 2017

The EAEA Younger Staff Training 2017 will be organised in Brussels on 19–22 September. The training increases adult education professionals’ knowledge about the European Union, deepens their understanding of the European education and training policies and enables the exchange of practices and networking. The Erasmus+ KA1 project grants can be used to cover the funds of the training. The deadline for the KA1 applications is February the 2nd.

Publicación de la EAEA: La Educación de Adultos en Europa 2016 – Una visión desde la sociedad civil
EAEA publication: Adult Education in Europe 2016 – A Civil Society View

EAEA has published a set of country reports that offer a civil society view on the state of adult education in Europe. The publication combines data collected from EAEA members in 37 countries to showcase an overview of adult education policy in Europe.

EAEA Policy Paper: Learning and Skills for Adults in Europe

New EAEA Policy Paper “Learning and Skills for Adults in Europe” sets out objectives and recommendations for the learning and skills for adults in Europe. The Policy Paper draws from a number of EU and global level strategies and demonstrates how adult education is the key to reach the aims of these strategies.

Lifelong Learning Interest Group discussed the Skills Agenda

With the New Skills Guarantee (“Upskilling Pathways”), the European Commission has presented an ambitious strategy for improving skills of adults in Europe. Several Members of the European Parliament, representatives of the European Commission and the Council of Europe as well as civil society discussed the Skills Agenda in a meeting of the Lifelong Learning Interest Group in November.

FinALE project: From measuring to a broader understanding of adult education

While hardly anyone would disagree with the impact of non-formal adult education on active citizenship, social inclusion and well-being, the current state of financing adult education in Europe suggests otherwise. Drawing on the outcomes of the EC Working Group on Financing Adult Learning from 2013, the FinALE project explores several aspects of financing adult learning.

AE-PRO project: ”A community of European adult learning professionals was born”

Online tools or kilometres between learners are not obstacles in creating a sense of community in learning. The AE-PRO project, which recently ended, demonstrates that committing people to online adult learning can be done if there are motivated learners and enough interaction.
